In an effort to enhance the efficiency of tax services, the Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has launched Coretax, an integrated digital system aimed at simplifying taxpayers’ compliance with their tax obligations.
However, the initial implementation of this system has encountered several technical issues, affecting the smooth operation of tax processes.
In response to these challenges, “DJP continues to make improvements in the hope that taxpayers will no longer face issues in accessing Coretax DJP services,” said Dwi Astuti in a written statement on Monday (January 13, 2025).
Dwi Astuti, Director of Tax Education, Services, and Public Relations at DJP, outlined several improvements made in the implementation of Coretax DJP.
According to the written statement No. KT-02/2025 dated January 10, 2025, the improvements include the registration of Taxpayer Identification Numbers (NPWP) for both Indonesian and foreign nationals.
Additionally, fixes have been made to the delivery of one-time passwords (OTP) and the updating of taxpayer profiles, including changes to company representatives (PIC) and employees other than the PIC.
Despite these updates, some issues remain unresolved, as stated in the post-implementation issue resolution list for Coretax released on January 10, 2025. One of these issues concerns the matching of National Identification Numbers (NIK) and NPWP for taxpayers who have yet to complete this process.
DJP previously reminded taxpayers that they must match their NIK and NPWP at the nearest tax office before accessing Coretax DJP.
“After completing the NIK-NPWP matching process, taxpayers can reset their password to access Coretax DJP,” according to a DJP document.
As part of the ongoing improvements, DJP has also updated the progress of technical solutions following the implementation of Coretax DJP on Tuesday (January 21, 2025).
