Do you still think that all MSME businesses are automatically subject to a 0.5% Final Income Tax on their gross turnover?
There are actually several important provisions and tax facilities that business owners need to understand.
First, for Individual Taxpayers and Individual-Owned Companies (PT Perorangan) that meet the requirements, the 0.5% Final Income Tax rate can be applied without a time limit.
This means that the 0.5% tax facility is no longer limited based on how long the business has been operating. As long as the taxpayer continues to meet the applicable requirements, the facility can still be utilized.
Second, certain business entities can also benefit from tax facilities.
For PT, CV, Firma, BUMDes, and BUMDesma with annual gross turnover of up to IDR 50 billion, a facility is available in the form of a 50% reduction of the Corporate Income Tax rate on the portion of income that qualifies for the facility.
This facility can help reduce the tax burden for eligible business entities, allowing part of their funds to remain available for operational needs and business development.
Third, gross turnover of up to IDR 500 million per year remains exempt from Income Tax for Individual Taxpayers.
For Individual Taxpayers conducting a business with annual turnover of up to IDR 500 million, that portion of turnover continues to receive an Income Tax exemption.
In other words, turnover of up to IDR 500 million does not automatically mean that the business is subject to the 0.5% Final Income Tax.
