The Indonesian government has set a proposed tax revenue target of IDR 2,591.4 trillion for 2027 under the Draft State Budget (RAPBN) 2027. The figure represents an increase of approximately 12.1% compared with the 2026 State Budget (APBN) tax revenue target of IDR 2,357.7 trillion.
Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa stated that the 2027 tax revenue target is equivalent to 9.3% of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
2027 Tax Revenue Target to Grow by Around 12%
Purbaya explained that tax revenue in 2027 is targeted at IDR 2,591.4 trillion, representing growth of around 12% compared with the previous year.
The statement was made during a press conference on the Financial Note and RAPBN 2027 in Jakarta on August 14, 2026.
The higher target reflects the government’s expectation of increased tax revenue in 2027.
Customs and Excise Revenue Target to Decline
While the tax revenue target is increasing, the government is projecting a decline in customs and excise revenue.
Customs and excise revenue in 2027 is targeted at IDR 316.6 trillion, down approximately 1.2% from the 2026 target of IDR 336 trillion.
Therefore, the increase in the overall taxation revenue target for 2027 is primarily supported by the higher tax revenue target.
Potential for Higher Tax Revenue
Purbaya also highlighted that there is still potential for higher tax revenue if the government succeeds in improving tax collection methods and increasing the tax ratio.
According to him, improvements in tax collection during the current year could create additional upside potential for taxation revenue in the following year.
Total Taxation Revenue Target for 2027
When tax revenue is combined with customs and excise revenue, the total taxation revenue target under the RAPBN 2027 is set at IDR 2,908 trillion.
This represents approximately 10.5% growth compared with the 2026 taxation revenue target of IDR 2,693.7 trillion.
2027 Revenue Target at a Glance
With the 2027 tax revenue target rising to IDR 2,591.4 trillion, the government’s ability to optimize tax collection and improve the tax ratio will be important in achieving the RAPBN 2027 target.
